Carnivora - The Book - The Art Show!

CARNIVORA, a contemplation of the dark side of automobiles, will officially launch Barany Books, a new imprint of Scapegoat Publishing and will be celebrated with an exhibition of the same name, scheduled to open at ©Pop Detroit Gallery in January, coinciding with the city’s North American International Auto Show. CARNIVORA will comprise paintings and sculptures in which automotive elements are used to make a statement. The images will encompass a wide range of styles and the artistic expressions and will embrace a range from the surreal, nightmarish, grotesque, monstrous, foreboding, to the political, erotic and humorous, leaving aside only the traditional car art .The book will contain texts by Harlan Ellison, Norman Spinrad, Heathcote Williams, Rick Manore, Carlo McCormick, George Petros, William Levy, Neke Carson, Jennifer Blowdryer, and will devote, in the minimum, a full page to the work of each artist. Following the exhibition at ©Pop Detroit, CARNIVORA will make a pit stop in Los Angeles, California at L’Imagerie Gallery in the Spring, then make its way back to the East Coast and open at New York’s Fuse Gallery in July of 2008.
