Les Barany: Putting to good use his many years as an award winning advertising art director and graphic designer, in the early 90’s Leslie Barany shifted his full attention to working as the representative of a unique group contemporary fine artists and photographers. The cutting-edge art and photo exhibitions he curates in the U.S. and European galleries reflects his varied taste and wide range of interests and have introduced many now famous art stars. His creative collaborations have influenced and sustained the careers of a multitude of artists working in all media. In recent years Les has published several limited edition sculptures and art prints with H.R. Giger and the James Dean portfolio with photographer Roy Schatt. He has edited the English language editions of most of H.R. Giger’s books and now, with Carnivora, adds ‘Author’ to his long list of credits and accomplishments.
The Editors: George Petros, born in Chicago, grew up there and in Clearwater, Florida. Attended Ray Vogue School of design, Chicago. From 1984 through 1994 he and Adam Parfrey put out Exit, an outlaw magazine that rankled both the underground and the establishment. From 1990 through 2000 he edited and art-directed Seconds, an all-interview rock mag published by Steven Blush. From 2000-2005, he was a contributing editor to Juxtapoz and the senior editor of Propaganda. His work has appeared on DEVO album covers and inThrasher, Paper, Screw, and Apocalypse Culture 2. He edited Blush’s American Hardcore. He compiled and produced the Tampa goth/industrial comp Black Sunshine. His books include Art that Kills, The EXIT Collection and .45 Dangerous Minds.
Deanna Lehman, born in Wytheville, Virginia, attended the University of South Florida in Tampa. BFA degree in Social sciences from Aomori University in Japan; she was the first Westerner to graduate from that school. Back in Tampa, published Pandora’s Box, a gothic literary zine featuring the works of Mike Diana, Paul Weinman, and Matt Hartsfield. Moved to New York City in 2005. Worked as an escort, exotic dancer and model. Publisher of Lollygag, a pornographic literary zine featuring her trade secrets as well as the art of Fred Berger, Tim Caldwell, and George Petros.
